Blog Submission Guidelines
We publish articles on multiple issues connected to women in international security. We are interested in blogs that involve women and security topics such as terrorism and counterterrorism, defense, peacekeeping, national security, intelligence, policing, collective security institutions such as NATO and the UN Security Council, and regional organizations such as the EU, the African Union and ASEAN.

To post a blog, the editorial team needs more than just text. Below is a list of all the key elements of a good WIIS-NL blog post. All WIIS-NL blog content should be an original contribution to our knowledge of gender and security. The article should be between 500-800 words.

What is needed for a blog?

It is best (but not mandatory) to use a standard structure of texts:
-
An introduction stating a problem or question
-
A main body of relevant information
-
A conclusion circling back to the issue(s) outlined in the introduction
-
Where necessary, use headers for different paragraphs;

Footnotes are not possible in the blog format but all sources and facts should be referenced using hyperlinks. These may refer to texts, audio and video.

Submission Steps:
Step 1. Send contribution to do@wiis-nl.com after which the editors will send a confirmation email.

Step 2. The editors will review the blog and aim to provide feedback within a week after receiving a blog entry. At this stage the blog can be provisionally accepted, or rejected;

Step 3. After reviewing the blog, the editors will send it to the author who can process the feedback and resubmit their blog;

Step 4. The editors will post the blog and notify the author when the blog is online.
